The press highlights the IGP path of Torre del Greco Coral and Cameo
Numerous national, local and trade newspapers have devoted ample space to the successful completion of the Italian phase of the process for the recognition of Torre del Greco Coral and Torre del Greco Cameo as Protected Geographical Indications for craft and industrial products.
The news received significant media attention, confirming the historical, cultural and economic importance of a path that concerns not only two production excellences, but the very identity of Torre del Greco and its artisan sector.
After the green light obtained in Italy, the process now enters its final stage. The last word in fact lies with the EUIPO – European Union Intellectual Property Office, called upon to examine and assess the two separate dossiers:
“Torre del Greco Coral”
“Torre del Greco Cameo”
These are two independent applications, united by a deep bond with the territory, by the continuity of artisan workmanship and by a heritage of skills handed down through generations.
Any IGP recognition would represent a key tool to protect the names, counter imitations and improper uses, and enhance the companies and artisans who operate in compliance with the production specifications.
The attention given by the press to this important result helps strengthen awareness and the value of two emblematic Made in Italy productions.
We now await with confidence the EUIPO’s assessment and the outcome of the last, decisive European stage.
