Today We Celebrate the First Anniversary of the Coral and Cameo Consortium of Torre del Greco

One year ago, a project was born — a project that brings together companies, artisans, and institutions with a single shared goal: to promote and enhance, worldwide, the coral and cameo of Torre del Greco, timeless symbols of our identity and tradition.

Among the main objectives for which the Consortium was founded, two stand out as major achievements:

joining the Campania Goldsmith District (D.Or. Campania)

and initiating the process to obtain PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) status for coral and cameo.

One year later, we can proudly say that both goals have been achieved.
The Consortium is now an official member of D.Or. Campania, and thanks to this partnership, members have already benefited from funding opportunities and participated in major collective exhibitions such as Vicenzaoro (January and September editions) and Inhorgenta, with many more activities already planned.

As for the PGI project, the process is well underway: we have already received official recognition from the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, a milestone achieved by only four other organizations in Italy.
We now look forward to December 1, 2025, when the European platform will officially open for the final stage of the PGI recognition process.

It has been a year of growth, challenges, and tangible results — but our work does not stop here.
This is only the beginning.
