The Corallo e Cammeo Torrese Consortium is a reality: great participation and discussion on
the future of the sector

A united, involved, and proud Torre del Greco provided the backdrop, on Friday, May 16,
2025, for the official presentation of the Corallo e Cammeo Torrese Consortium, a new entity created
by the will of the Assocoral members with the ambitious goal of protecting, enhancing, and promoting
the artisanal excellence of the area.

The event took place in the splendid setting of the Circolo Nautico of Torre del Greco, a
symbolic place suspended between sea, history, and identity, which hosted a diverse audience made up of
companies, artisans, political and institutional authorities, stakeholders, and citizens, all gathered around
a project that looks to the future, with roots firmly anchored in tradition.

The opening of the event was marked by the reading of a letter from the Minister of Made in Italy,
Adolfo Urso, who wanted to send a message of congratulations to the association for the work
carried out, recognizing the commitment and vision of the sector.

This was followed by institutional greetings from:
 Antonio Marchiello, Councillor for Productive Activities of the Campania Region
 Luigi Mennella, Mayor of Torre del Greco
 Vincenzo Giannotti, President D.Or. Campania

They reiterated the strategic value of this sector for the economy and culture of the area.
President Vincenzo Aucella, already at the helm of Assocoral, then officially presented the
Consortium, illustrating its genesis, vision, new logo, and medium-term action plan. A
path already underway with concrete results, just a few months after its foundation.
The event also represented a valuable opportunity to let the
speakers get to know our world up close: often told only through words or images, Torre del Greco's craftsmanship
was able to show itself in all its authenticity, between know-how, natural beauty, and conviviality. A
live story, enriched also by the discovery of typical products and the warm welcome of the
local community.

The central moment of the initiative was the round table:
“Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) for artisanal and industrial products. A new challenge”,
which involved prominent figures on the national and international scene:
 Matteo Farsura, Global Exhibition Manager – Jewellery & Fashion Division, IEG
 Roberto Luongo, Advisor to the Minister for Internationalization – Secretary
General of the Leonardo Committee
 Steven Tranquilli, Director of Confcommercio Federpreziosi

Moderated by journalist Giovanni Micera, Director of Preziosa Magazine, the speakers
discussed a crucial topic: obtaining PGI status for Torre del Greco coral and cameo. A

recognition that could represent a qualitative leap in terms of protection, recognition, and
international competitiveness.

The interest shown by the participants – especially by local artisans and companies, who
crowded the hall – demonstrates the desire to continue growing together, with
awareness and determination.

The Corallo e Cammeo Torrese Consortium thus presents itself not only as a new
operational entity, but as a tool for dialogue, representation, and shared vision, ready to take on
the challenges of today and tomorrow.
